ABSTRACT Purpose The aim of this study was to evaluate a program for implementing the PECS in children with non-verbal ASD or minimal verbalization school clinic belonging Unified Health System - SUS. Methods This is longitudinal study. sample consisted 22 nonverbal verbalization; 17 boys and 5 girls, aged 6 12 years old. 24 sessions individual speech language therapy presence family member followed six phases originally proposed by Training Manual. Results All reached first three phases. About 82% phase IV; 64% V 19% VI. Family adherence 96%. Conclusion It possible test implementation verify that were able achieve discrimination sentence construction, besides demonstrating gain their lexical repertoire reduction non-adaptative behaviors.
